ARCHITECTS  :  HOLY HELL

Artwork for album cover and inlay, and for animated backdrop for live gigs on the Holy Hell tour.
Here's the final album artwork and several pictures I made at the time in the same vein, to be used throughout the album and CD inlays,
for merch and for the onstage cinema screen animations. (Stage animations by Duckeye).

ROYAL BLOOD  :  ROYAL BLOOD

I was approached by Royal Blood in 2014 to make a new piece of work for their debut album cover, and I made Crown.  Although Mike and Ben liked the piece they decided they wanted to use the already existing Pachamama.  This became the cover for their eponymous no.1 debut album, and also served as the backdrop for live gigs.

I also made Throne for their single Ten Tonne Skeleton.  Kindly behold:

SERIAL WINES ~ 1 & 12

I made two labels for Serial wines.  The design of the bottles was influenced by my work, and the open brief was to provide artwork for two labels.

You can see the full image and greater details of Priestess, from the first label, here.

A few years previously to this some of my work was put on another wine bottle, called Animist:

OPENING SEQUENCE FOR REQUIEM (BBC 1 & Netflix)

Opening sequence for Requiem, a major 6-part series on BBC1 and later Netflix, directed by Mahalia Belo and starring Lydia Wilson.

I made several pictures and Peter Anderson Studios made them into this tidy 30-second opening sequence.

You can see and buy the screen and giclee prints of 'Requiem', 'Raven' and 'Moon Language' here.

SHAKESPEARE'S GLOBE THEATRE : WONDER & WONDER NOIR SEASONS

When Emma Rice became the new director of Shakepeare's Globe Theatre in London in 2017 she asked to use my work for the first year's Wonder theme, which I jumped at.  As well as theming the posters and brochure for the year, my work also featured in the foyer, up the columns and hanging from the walls.

Most of the work used was pre-existing, except for Night's Dream, which was commissioned specifically for Emma's magnificent Midsummer Night's Dream.

THE FOLIO SOCIETY : THE CALL OF CTHULHU & OTHER WEIRD STORIES by H.P. LOVECRAFT

I made the images for, and co-designed, The Call of Cthulhu and Other Weird Stories with The Folio Society in 2017.  I made seven original images for this, including the frontispiece, as well as making the endpapers and covers for the book and solander box of the limited edition and the cover of the collector's edition.  The limited edition (limited to 750 copies) also featured an exclusive signed and numbered print, as below.

THE FOLIO SOCIETY : STEPPENWOLF by HERMANN HESSE

I also made some art work for Hermann Hesse's Steppenwolf with Folio.  Hesse is one of my all-time favourite writers, so this was especially sweet to work on.  As usual The Folio Society came through with the details.  The life-changing leaflet, On Steppenwolf: A Tract, detailing Harry's life, his nature and his predicament, handed to him in the street, is embedded in the main body of the book.
